Who We are

Save our Rivers and Sea from Sewage (SORS-FS) was created by river and ocean users and enthusiasts who have become increasingly concerned about the rampant sewage pollution flowing into our marine and river eco-systems in and around eThekwini Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

The mandate of SORS-FS is to use an evidence-based approach to tackle what is quickly becoming an endemic water pollution crisis, which if left unattended, will lead to many becoming ill, possible human deaths and the collapse of the associated economies reliant on these water resources.

A registered non-profit, SORS-FS wants to force the eThekwini Municipality and any other designated government entity, to take responsibility for and urgently replace, repair and/or upgrade the multiple broken wastewater treatment works and associated sewerage infrastructure that are currently depositing large volumes of toxic sewage into our region’s rivers and ocean.
